Mercyhurst opened its 2014-2015 CHMA schedule on the road this past weekend against Robert Morris University. It was not the start that the Lakers were hoping for as they fell behind by a score of 4-0 in the first half of play. Senior defenseman, Kaleb Schwab would put the Lakers on the board in the late minutes of the second period of play. Mercyhurst responded with two more goals before giving up a power play goal late in the third. Despite outshooting RMUPA by a margin of 32-24, the Lakers fell by a score of 5-3.
On Saturday the Lakers returned home to face-off against Duquesne University. Mercyhurst rebounded from the night before with a much better performance outscoring Duquense by a final of 5-0. Eight different Lakers contributed to the scoresheet and Bryan Danczak posted his second shutout of the season.
